Papad
Papad is a traditional Indian accompaniment made from lentil, chickpea, rice, or urad dal flour, blended with spices and seasonings. The dough is rolled into very thin discs and dried in the sun, making it shelf-stable for long periods. Before serving, papad is roasted, grilled, or deep-fried, which gives it a light, crispy texture and a rich, savory flavor. It is commonly enjoyed as a starter, side dish, or snack and is often served with meals along with chutneys, onions, or salads. Papad adds a crunchy contrast to Indian food and is loved for its simplicity, versatility, and satisfying taste.
